How to Guide to making Wooden Christmas ornaments with Glitter Vinyl and Sublimation
To get started with this project you will first need some supplies.I will list some links for these items some will be affiliate links that will support my small business. Please use these links this will help me grow my small business and get more equipment and supplies to make new items and products for you in the Shop. Supplies List:
Wooden Shape 3.25 round - Walmart
White Gritty Glitter Vinyl – Any craft store or Amazon
White Chalk Paint – Walmart
Heat Press and heat glove butcher paper– Heat press Glove
Design- create your own design or buy from online I got mine from the SVGs from Auntie Tay
Printer – Epson converted to Sublimation or Sawgrass sublimation printer
Sublimation ink- Cosmos ink
Sublimation paper- Amazon Asub or BG paper
Silhouette Studio – design program
Steps
Step 1- Use Silhouette Studio to design for your shape and print with mirrored design
Step 2- Cut Shape out of White Glitter Vinyl with cutting machine or scissors. And cut the design out of printed page.
Step 3- Use Heat Press to to lightly tack the Glitter Vinyl to the Wooden Shape and repeat on the other side
Step 4- Remove one cover sheet off one side of the Glitter Vinyl and using Heat Tape , tape down design on one the exposed glitter vinyl and press using Heat Press at 400 degrees for 60 seconds. Remove from heat press with Heat glove. Replace plastic cover sheet and Repeat on the other side.
Step 5- With plastic cover sheets back on after sublimation, use White Chalk Paint and Paint Brush to paint the edges of the Wooden Shape and remove cover sheets after paint drys.
Step 6- Use a small Hand Drill to make a hole at the top of the design. Place Ribbon and hang! Success! You are done with your Ornament! Below you will find a power point presentation that includes this how to guide.
